Regular maintenance of historic properties is an essential part of preservation. The “Stagecoach Inn” is a heritage resource center and is on a site away from regular visitation. The lack of occupation for many years has resulted in serious deterioration and there have been modern amenities added that are not considered historic and are causing further deterioration to the structure.
Below is a list of items that need attention:
PHASE 1
- Foundation Repair - Completed
- Replace Roof - Completed
- Replace Doors - Completed
- Repair and/or Replace Windows - Completed

PHASE 2
- Repair and Repoint Masonry - Completed
- View Phase 2 Photos
- Received $16,000 grant from LCRA/GVEC for repointing masonry.
PHASE 3
- Remove modern amenities (cabinets / bathroom)
- Remove wooden flooring
- Purchase Signage - 1 sign on 183; 1 sign closer to home with contact info.
- Repair Interior Walls
PHASE 4
- Provide furnishings of 1800’s era in Home
PHASE 5
- Landscaping
- Repair Rock Fence in front of Home
- Repair Well
- Parking area and restrooms
The Hochheim Historical Foundation is dedicated in its efforts to restore the property to its original condition creating a heritage education and tourism learning center.
